Alldocube has unveiled the iPlay 80 mini Ultra, a compact Android gaming tablet that the company is positioning as the world’s first 5G Android mini gaming tablet. Measuring just 8.8 inches across, the device is built around a full flagship-tier chipset, a high-refresh-rate display, and built-in 5G cellular connectivity — a combination that is still unusual at this screen size.
At the heart of the iPlay 80 mini Ultra is the MediaTek Dimensity 8300, a processor built on TSMC’s 4-nanometer manufacturing process. Without getting too deep into the engineering, a smaller nanometer figure generally means the chip can deliver more performance while consuming less power — translating to faster gaming with less battery drain. Alldocube pairs this chip with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, with support for microSD cards up to 1TB. The tablet scores up to approximately 1.7 million points on AnTuTu v11, a widely used benchmark test for measuring mobile device performance, which the company notes surpasses the iPad mini’s roughly 1.5 million AnTuTu score.
The display is arguably where the iPlay 80 mini Ultra makes its most compelling statement. It uses an 8.8-inch LTPS-TFT panel — a screen technology known for high resolution, low power consumption, and fast response — running at a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, which falls under the 2.5K category. It also supports a 144Hz refresh rate, meaning the screen can update up to 144 times per second for noticeably smoother motion compared to the 60Hz standard found on many competing devices, including the iPad mini. The display hits a pixel density of 343 PPI (pixels per inch), a peak brightness of 500 nits, and covers the DCI-P3 wide color gamut — a professional color standard used in cinema and premium consumer displays for more vivid, accurate colors.
Connectivity is a core part of the device’s pitch. The iPlay 80 mini Ultra supports dual nano-SIM 5G alongside Wi-Fi 6E — the latest generation of wireless networking — and Bluetooth 5.3, all included without additional cost. The product page describes this as enabling “console-level gaming in a compact, pocket-ready tablet.”
For gamers who often play while charging, the tablet includes bypass charging, a feature that routes power directly to the motherboard rather than through the battery, reducing heat buildup during extended sessions. The 7,200mAh battery supports 33W fast charging, which the company says takes the device from zero to fully charged in approximately 1.5 hours. In real-world use estimates provided by Alldocube, the tablet is rated for eight to nine hours of gameplay in Genshin Impact at maximum frame rate, nine to ten hours of video streaming, and up to 29 hours of audio playback.
Thermal management — the system that keeps a device from overheating under pressure — relies on a three-layer cooling setup consisting of a vapor chamber plate, a graphite sheet, and copper foil, covering a combined area of over 17,000 square millimeters. The tablet also features dual vibration motors for more realistic haptic feedback, along with a dedicated Game Mode designed to block notifications and interruptions during play.
On the audio side, Alldocube has developed what it calls AST, or Alldocube Sound Technology, a proprietary tuning system developed by its in-house audio engineering team.
The company describes it as the result of “countless hours spent tuning, testing, and refining sound across real devices and real usage scenarios,” adding that “AST isn’t just louder sound — it’s sound, carefully tuned to feel right.” alldocube The dual full-box speakers are calibrated at both the hardware and software levels, with a focus on clarity, vocal definition, and overall balance.
The iPlay 80 mini Ultra runs Android 14, weighs 330 grams, and measures 7.75mm thin — slim enough to hold comfortably in two hands for extended sessions. The USB-C port (USB 3.0) supports data transfer, video output via DisplayPort, OTG, and PD charging. Camera hardware includes a 13-megapixel rear shooter with autofocus and LED flash, alongside a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is currently available via AliExpress, Amazon Japan, and Rakuten.
